August 9, 2017
In a surprising and shocking turn of events, Paul Cotton and Ken Duxbury were crowned champions at the 2017 annual Cotton Cup golf tournament.
Although a formal appeal and investigation was requested by the team of Tyler Wastle and Robert Gabinet the result remained the same.
Former champions, Kevin Van Sickle and Dale Cotton, previously on opposing teams, had teamed up and were highly favoured to win the prestigious trophy.
When questioned about their defeat, Dale Cotton was quoted as saying, “Golf sucks, where is dinner?”
Kevin Van Sickle could not be found for comment, but rumour had him racing to the trophy engraver with trophy in hand to change the winners names.
The team of Scott Horler and Tony DaSilva were still on the course looking for their last balls on the 18th hole.
Ken Duxbury stated, “My drives, my long irons, my wedges, my short game and my putting made all of the difference.”
Paul Cotton was quoted as saying, “I could have sworn I was Ken’s partner.”
Congratulations to the 2017 Cotton Cup Champions.
